I picked up some off cuts to build the adapter from, but have just not been in the right mental state to play with a bandsaw or welder right now, so I'm playing it safe and trying to think the design out as well as possible so I'm ready to go once my brain (and the weather) cooperate.

In order to achieve something, I've finally started listing parts for sale from the Corvette's parts stash.  Doing research, it's interesting to see what is and isn't valuable.  I think between this and a small trickle of remaining Trailblazer parts, I should get close to or hit the $2000 selloff limit.

I started back on the C channel adapter this week, but measurements I made earlier didn't seem to be working out, and I did not want to go through the work of cutting and drilling 1/4" steel only to find out I'd messed up.  Decided to try something new.  I cut a strip of aluminum, drilled a hole, bolted it up to the tailshaft housing, then lined it up as well as possible.

Finagled it back onto the transmission, and marked where the holes on the C channel met up with it.  I did have to slightly bend the aluminum to get it to fit in place, but I think once there it was pretty much flat when I marked it.

Now I've got the relative location of the holes to work with, and should be able to build off this template once I drill it out.  I also verified the holes on the top and bottom of the C channel line up with each other, so can use that info for the top side of the adapter.  We'll see how long this takes, having a few things popping up lately that are more important than garage time.
