I love that. I would be so frustrated in your shoes. Why I have always been hesitant to send a car off/try to be quick and open about customer cars.

Miata update: fab9 is keeping the dyno above ground and using a 4 post lift to bring cars up to the correct elevation. They have the lift, assembled, on a flat bed trailer at the shop. But it's too big to bring into the shop assembled. So my car is not going on the dyno this week. Surprise! Next week I'm in PA for work, so it's kind of a write off anyway, as far as being able to ship it home. Maybe they'll get things squared away next week. Possibly? Hopefully? Who knows? 😔

Yeah, this sounds like just more stupid excuse making on their part. What a bunch of Donkeys.
It's not uncommon to do dynos this way. A good racing buddy of mine has his dyno setup with a lift to get to it. It's still not a great excuse for the situation you are in however. Hopefully this saga can come to close soon and Fab9 can get their E36 M3 together.
Some pics from the Saturday rallyx. The course was essentially run backward from usual, which made for a new and fun route! I brought 2 friends out to experience rallyx in their turbo YXZ and Honda Talon. They both had a blast and will be back again! I was pretty beat afterward and decided to just spectate and have a couple beers with my buddies at the Bullring race, rather than participate.

I'm in Lancaster PA for work this week. Found this rad car collection/consignment place in an old shopping mall just outside town. Free entry and thousands of cool cars!

fab9 dyno/lift setup is "80% ready", so I'd estimate 2-3 more weeks 😂
Found a drag strip just outside Lancaster with some action on Friday evening.

and I received this unprompted photo from Bryan just now!

Still not bolted down, lift on pallet jacks... I hate to be the turd in the punchbowl, but considering their, um, lack of punctuality at best... I'm gonna say you're still a couple months away from seeing the car that you paid so much to send off for a quick '5 day turbo kit'.
So crappy.

I do believe that photo is a little older. Its not showing the exhaust ductwork on the wall, and a couple of days ago, Bryan told me "the guy is bolting down the dyno now" (can I even believe anything Bryan tells me at this point). However, I'm in agreement with your assessment - the timeline remains unknown.
I'm pulling my hair out from the sidelines here. It's excruciating. I can't comprehend how a company could be so tone deaf to the empty promises being given to you. I imagine there are a half dozen or more just like you in semi-silence about the whole ordeal, just hoping to get your car back somewhat close to what was sold to you as a "package". At this point I'd be concerned whatever you end up with is about as sloppy in execution as the rest of the mess you're witnessing. I hope I'm wrong about that.

yep, I have the same thoughts and concerns. This has become quite a mental exercise. I'm doing my best to stay distracted from it and focus on other things happening in life.
Ok. One of Bryan's buddies put his car on the dyno to test his "TorqAmp" electric supercharger. Everything's functioning. Bryan says he wants to get the lift anchored down before putting my car on it. That shouldn't take more than a day, right? RIGHT?!?

It’s so much fun! My favorite Motorsport! I’m pretty sure both of my buddies will be back
im told the Miata is going on the dyno tomorrow 🤞. I’ve requested video of the pull and graph. (No, not because I don’t fully trust them. why would you say that?)
also, I reached out to the transport company. $150 less for the trip home to Florida. I was expecting the opposite.
“We got it on there and quickly realized we need front anchors. Ben’s car was strapped to the 4 post lift. Your car makes the lift move. Haha
I’m going out tonight to put front anchors in the ground.”
🤦♂️
The fact that they haven’t installed a couple more anchor bolts before running your car seems so par for the course. WTF
This is a "tell me you haven't been around a dyno without telling me you haven't been around a dyno" moment.
I just have nightmares about your car General Lee'ing off the front of the 4-post because they used Home Depot moving straps or some dumb crap. Then they'll send another dumb message like 'Good news, bad news! Your car made 275hp... before it launched itself through the other side of the building. Its now totalled'
You'll need to log in to post.
