Selling my winter beater/DD 2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx LS. It has 106k mi and some rust. One owner. Located in Dayton, Ohio. Please ask if you want more photos.

Asking $1500. I could be interested in trading for something nicer, newer, and manual with cash on my end. I also have two other cars I'm planning on listing if anyone is interested in buying or trading multiple vehicles.

Pros

  • F/R Shocks, front end links, and front control arms replaced
  • Drive belt and pulleys replaced
  • No check engine light
  • A/C and heat work great
  • 3.5L V6
  • Gets ~32-34 mph on the highway

Negatives

  • Rust
  • exhaust leak(s) and you can smell the leak when stopped with fresh air set on the HVAC
  • steering clunks slightly, have a replacement steering shaft damper
  • slight air leak through bottom of windshield from bad installation
  • gas door fell off this week

I daily drove one these for 150k miles. My daughter then drove it until a deer destroyed it. I didn’t want to like it, but I couldn’t help it. One of the best do it all cars I’ve ever owned. In all the time that I owned it, the only failures that I can recall were a coolant temp sensor and a plug at the MAF (or maybe MAP, I don’t recall) sensor. GLWS!

I'm in Dayton and could swear someone I know needed a cheap car quick.  Lemme see if that's true.

Yeah, its definitely a good practical vehicle. My mom was sad to get a new car after having the malibu for almost 20 years. Other than the body and exhaust rust, it would be pretty much perfect now. Most of the issues are just normal maintenance for a high mileage vehicle. Its definitely been more reliable than the two impalas they had from the same era.
