Many remember wedge-shaped cars such as the Countach, Pantera and DeLorean, but one example that many might not recall is the Michelotti Laser.

Japanese-born Tateo Uchida served as the chief designer of the Laser for Michelotti. The Laser used the French sports car Matra M530 as its foundation and featured a mid-mounted 1.7-liter Ford V4 as the powerplant.

The Laser displayed at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show and then the 1972 Montreal Auto Salon. The Matsuda Collection bought it around 1980 and it went into the Sports Car Museum in 1983. It disappeared for several years but then returned to the spotlight in a Tokyo concours in 2009.

Find the 1971 Michelotti Laser for auction at Bingo, with an estimated value of ¥24,000,000-¥26,000,000 (approximately $160,000-$170,000 USD).

It looks like a Subaru designed by Guigaro…
