No question about it: Jimmy Rauck’s 1999 Honda Civic is fast. Case in point, he broke two records during Gridlife competition at the Autobahn Country Club–FWD and production car–this past weekend with a 1:20.840 lap.
How does that compare to the rest of the field at Autobahn? Rauck beat everyone else, including a Lamborghini Huracán (1:21.726), a G87 BMW M2 (1:24.357) and a Chevrolet Corvette (1:25.701).
This weekend, Rauck and his turbocharged K20 Civic will take on the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge and the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals at Pitt Race. Will more records fall? Time will tell.
Think you got something for Jimmy Rauck? You can still enter the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge.
That is smoking. Competent driver in typical track day fare is like 1:36-1:32 ish on that track. Anything under 1:30 is really fast. 1:20 is insane.
Jimmy is the Clark Kent of time attack.
Super chill and unassuming outside the car.
But when he dons the drivers suit...it's lights out for the opponents.
I know this guy! A buddy of mine used to work at his trailer business. I still go there when I need trailer tires, lights and such. Have autocrossed with him as well when he was running a 911.
