The second-gen Toyota Century may be better known for its luxurious appointments rather than outright performance, but it’s got a V12, so it has to be capable of a pretty impressive top speed, right?
To find out just how fast the V12-powered Century can go, why not take it on the Autobahn?

Now that's smooth.

I like that there's a dude in the back chillin and using the ottoman feature.

So, is it limited? Cause it goes right up to 180KM/h and just stops....111 mph on 280 hp......seems like it's limited.

Yep it hit that classic Japanese 180kph limiter like a brick wall, disappointing...

All Japanese market cars are limited to 180km/h. Or were, at least.
They made a big deal about this when Nissan claimed that the R32 chassis Skyline GT-R was the first production car to crack 8 minutes at the Nurburgring. Because the GT-R was a Japan only model, so all GT-Rs were limited to 180km/h, but the car that ran the Ring had the limiter removed, so therefore it wasn't a production car.
Details.

Can say this much, that limiter is a real bummer in the Supra. Yes, it can be disabled without much effort, I just never seem to think about it until I hit it...

It was at 5350 rpm at 180 Km (112 mph); I wonder how many more rpms the engine had to give?

In reply to NOHOME :
Wasn't in top gear. Watch when he has to lift at a bit after 4min and the revs drop to under 4000 at 178km/h.

Kind of a waste of time isn't it.
