I'm no challenge veteran or even attendee, I enjoy reading all the challenge build threads though!
Considering this one for $200 was the closest equivalent to your car in questions, I think $500 is fair.

My apologies for quoting from memory vs pasting the rules directly. FMV rule states "at least 5 forum users with more than 50 posts have agreed with a proposed fair market value for your item."

so with Kendall's agreement that's 4.
... and Mattk makes 5. Thanks y'all!
For those keeping score at home, here are the names and numbers of forum posts for each person who has posted their agreement with my proposed FMV of $500:
ShawneeCreek, 900
Kendall Frederick, 549

madmrak351, 926
Mattk, 174
i will start a build thread before I bring the car home, in keeping with GRM tradition.
In for the 7 years further roached pics. Bonus if they include wildlife.

I may lobby for a lower agreed value when I go pick it up.

If it's not as bad are you going to lobby for a higher one also?

As far as you know, that is exactly my plan.
In theory, wheels are in motion. In practice, I’ll let you know in a week.
AC, if you have any questions about teaching teens, it's what I do albeit high school driver education. Teens are teens however. It's about building relationships, being honest and firm, and holding them accountable for their decisions. Do you have the automotive math handbook? Great for ideas. I've used it to help kids who struggle with math find a common connection to their passion. I also taught at the tech center for a year in the auto program locally before doing DE.
