Folks -
You can pencil in the long-rumored GRM $2000 Challenge Party @ Pitt Race to your calendar for the September 19-21 UTCC weekend, in partnership with some big names in our motorsports space.
We have to hold off announcing specifics as details are still being developed and our partners are readying formal announcements, but be ready to bolt your sticky tires on at all 4 corners, shine it up, come hungry, and be ready to party.
Show off your budget rockets to an appreciative audience, but if your $2000 Challenge car isn't quite ready for a full shakedown, you can run whatever you bring. And don't forget your helmet.
Look for more details (finally) in a few weeks. If you're anywhere within a reasonable drive of Pittsburgh PA, you're going to want to be there.
Thanks,
- Bill Cuttitta

Where is this going to be? Like what city and state? Cuz I may just have to bust my ass and get the Miata done for a shake down up there before the challenge in April
Edit:
Pittsburgh. I suck at reading
In reply to Dusterbd13 :
I edited it to be specific about Pittsburgh PA.
Just to be sure.

Calendar marked; will see you there!
No idea what I will actually be driving, all of my vehicles seem to always have a loose nut behind the wheel...
In reply to tb :
If our discussion at the challenge still stands, this could be fortuitous timing!!!
4 hours from home. 3 months away. MonZora will be there.
That's not too far for me. I've never made it down to the challenge just because of the distance to Florida. Would it be OK to bring other race cars or potentially some vintage stuff that I may or may not have hanging around? And lastly, do you need a current racing license to get on track?
Looking forward to this weekend. There's a whole lot getting packed into a few days here.
In reply to dean1484 :
For the moment, I'd say that if a car can pass an SCCA AutoX tech, it should be OK.
Also, we currently don't anticipate a need for a racing license to get on track for this event.
Thanks,
- Bill C
I'm making bookmarks now so that when these ads go stale in 4 weeks or so, the sellers will be more receptive to my lowball offer!

Rated for 13.9sec 1/4 mile...V8 Genesis that no one is looking for!

Would love to see more details! I'm thinking of dusting off fdat for this...
In reply to John Welsh :
Playing the long game. Nice.
Oh man. I might need to come up for this.
In reply to John Welsh :
I like the Porsche kit car way more than i should....
I'll admit, I listed the kit car as just "eye candy" since I lack the skills and resources to complete that. But, for y'all with the skills, here's the link to the entire ad
However, I do have Hybrid Skills.
With these Lexus Hybrids, the second power source was not used to make "economy" but rather used to make additional power. As such, this V6 Hybrid was more powerful and quicker than the Lexus V8 of the time. This previous $55k car was rated for 5.6 sec 0-60 and 13.5 sec 1/4 mile!
This one needs HV battery

This should be called the Pitty Party

Awesome 👍
Calendar marked. When can we get more details please?
Wampum Baby, the track is money!
we will be there. I do not know what we will bring but we'll be there. if the Corolla is ready for a shakedown, so be it. or maybe the bmw if I get it done in time. if not, I'll chuck the wartburg on the trailer for showoff purposes
Let me know if there are volunteer/work opportunities, would love to hang out and help out.
In reply to Indy - Guy :
I will provide additional details when I have them. Sorry for the delay here - I honestly expected to have them by now.
Thanks,
