You are being pretty brave but not as brave as someone out there wiling to admit that they like T tops. . .

I believe a lot of people must like them since you almost can't buy a car without one, but what, 2 people in this thread say they like theirs compared to everyone else that's posted?
Maybe I should do a poll just for fun.
Put me in the no-sunroof category as well… I think I opened the sunroof once in the 5 years I owned my E90. When I was searching for a new daily having no sunroof was high on the list and picked a 2017 Golf GTI Sport for that reason.

To be clear, I don't like T-tops. I LOVE T-tops. ![]()

No, no I would not. To be clear, I wish my truck had the factory sunroof.

The only sunroofs I ever have issues with are the ones that were never used..
I'm with you. I have then open pretty much always.

I saw a Z car project for sale on MP yesterday. The first ting I checked was if it had one of those sunroofs.
It didn't.
I'm a fan of sunroofs and open the one on my E90 regularly. I actually have a euro E28 without a sunroof which is pretty rare over here, there are a lot of days I wish it had a manual crank roof to match the crank windows though.
I'd never cut a sunroof into a car that didn't have it though.
Those glass pop tops were really popular in England in the 90s, Minis in particular were victims.....including my 89 Racing Green. The problem is the Mini roof is slightly curved with a very gentle peak in the center, and the glass sunroof inserts were flat.
Mine has never leaked tho I've seen a few that were siliconed shut because they do - leak that is. Mine rattles like crazy when popped open, and the film on the inside is not dark enough - I have to wear a hat in bright sunlight because of the glare. I hate it but replacing the roof or welding in a panel is not in the cards for me.
I'm sure it contributes to the overall noise when driving too, especially at highway speeds.
I love sunroofs. In fact, the bigger the better. My sequoia had one that adjusted the air dam based on speed to avoid buffeting- pretty neat.
What I really liked about those glass sunroofs was the way the rear popped up at different heights you could get good ventilation without the noise you get with the windows open or the modern sunroofs. You could open the dash vents, pop the sunroof and hack a dart with no wind noise or smoke filling the car. Beauty
New tubes came in today and I'm booked into the shop tomorrow at 8:30, can't wait to see what $200 of Audi spec rubber tubing looks like. Must be gold plated or something......7 hours labor quoted for the job @ $250/hr.
I also need to get something to spray on the headliner, given the mold/mildewy smell I get hit with whenever I open the car door, I'm pretty sure the inside of the headliner will have it in spades.
We'll see what happens tomorrow, getting a "free" Lyft home when I drop it off.
