??? What's a budget way to weigh my Z?
There are several roadside truck scales around here that are unmanned, but still operational, during evening and weekend hours. We can just drive on and read the display from right inside the vehicle. Is there anything like that near you?
Bathroom scales, use a lever of a known length, say 1m and place one end on a fulcrum and the other on the scale then lower the wheel onto the lever about 200mm in and that should lower the force at the scale end enough to not break it. After that its just simple math

I went to a newer Cat scale in Romeoville, Illinois - $14.75 today and they were difficult to work with. They couldn't answer one single question or offer any advice. I guess they're annoyed working on such a nice day.
With me in the car it weighs exactly 2700#. Subtract my clothed weight (300#) and a full tank of gas (90#) - so it weighs 2,310#?
Does this scale round up? Exactly 2,700#?
Some landfills weigh vehicles entering and leaving to know how much to charge commercial waste haulers or if they have a daily or per trip limit for citizens.
Local landfill will have a drive-on scale. Just drive on, read weight, turn around and drive out after stopping to read the weight on the way out. Average the two weights for best results.
Our brains are weird, eh?
It's numerically equally likely that the number is 2,300, but if it were 2,301, you'd be more likely to believe it..
The apocryphal story that Everest was measured at exactly 29,000 feet, but they made it 29,002 because they figured no one would believe them comes to mind.
Agreed that our local transfer station wouldn't mind telling you the weight on the scales.
I was surprised our local scrap yard scale was as accurate at low weights as it is.
i walked across the scale and noticed the read out ,226 lbs. I went home and jumped on the bathroom scale my wife calibrated years ago. 226.1.
if the operator is patient roll the front only on the platform stopping when the rear wheels are about a foot from the platform, then the whole car, then just the rear wheels. You can get a front/rear %.
DOT truck scales usually leave the scale readout on when they are closed. But don't try when they are open. You get yelled at through a loudspeaker.

I try to pretend I am pulling off the highway for some other reason.
