Yea. Been absent a while.
Picked up incurable Cancer in 2023. No sympathy please.
Went ahead and retired. Feels weird. The supermodel gets me up and we talk over a cup of coffee. It's kinda cool. Best part of the day.
So for the rest of the day...need to keep the mind busy. What to do to think happy thoughts? Buy a couple of cheap projects from the Atlanta area. Follows are the tow motors.
1974 Champion Concord. It has a Ford drivetrain. Also bought a set of 2004 F250 4X4 superduty axles to slide under it. Trying to decide the motor. Need a Ford divorced NP205. I'd like to keep it all Ford and am looking a bit for a 351w?.....turbo 300?
2003 GMC 4X4 2500HD with the 8.1, 496 cubic inch chunk, and the Allison 1000 5 speed transmission. I've always wanted a SS 496. I also bought the short 3 bed option from a 4 door 1500. Hope to start cutting the frame this week.

Good to see you back! I love obscure cheap junk and the people that rescue it
This is neat! Excited to follow along the journey. My mother has incurable cancer and has been on the look out for an RV so her and my father can do some traveling. They do not have the skills to wrench on a RV, so cost has prohibited them thus far.
That thing is incredible. Sounds like a good project. Would be more fun if you had a buddy building it with you.

Ford gas engine for towing? 460efi is the easy button. Add a Banks kit, advance the timing and turn up the fuel pressure a bit with an adjustable regulator for a 5.0.
Add the aftermarket supercharger if you can find one.
Put an E4OD with upgraded pump seals and an extra cooler behind it.
I had this setup in an F250HD and it would keep up with a buddy's Duramax when we were towing. Burned twice as much fuel as his diesel though.
