Probably a DSR. Looks like a nice chassis. Looks to missing the front bodywork but what's there is certainly worth the ask, IMHO. I might hafta go take a look...

Don't know but I hope to find out. We'll see if I hear back. I'll keep you all posted...
Didn’t even notice the ‘spare set of dirt tires’. If I remember right, Goodyear had some very blocky rain tires, and Hoosier had some dirt tires that were amazing rain tires for road racing.
Looks like it has Hoosier slicks on it, so maybe they are the dirt tires.

CoPart?
Storage auctions?
Theft??
And the price has already gone up to $4500. Guessing he had a lot of interest at the original price.
Older rains look really chunky and could be confused for dirt tires.
Alrighty, I spoke with the young man selling the DSR. It was his uncle's who was the original owner and built it 15 years ago. No log book and he doesn't know who built the chassis. He doesn't really know anything about what's what hence the original low price. He's has considerable interest and someone clued him in and that's why the price went up. I shoulda contacted him as soon as I saw the ad last Friday and I probably could've scored the whole thing for the original ask.
He's got the front bodywork and undertray to go with it. There are considerable spares too.
It has a set of Hoosier rains mounted on some spare wheels. From the pics he sent they look pretty new. The slicks on the car are mounted on what look like Jongbloeds or replicas. 13 inchers.
The engine starts but the oil cooler has a leak so he can't run it very long. Apparently sounds badass.
I'm supposed to go up there tomorrow and take a look. If the spousal unit gets wind I'm probably going down in flames...
Here's some more pictures he sent me:
