This truck is far from perfect, but it is like a member of my family. Used the money from my first real job in 2012. Bought initially to tow cars to the track it made a few trips to pitt race and Nelson ledges. Most of the big 6.5t problems have been addressed from the PMD, cooling mods and the upgraded turbo with vacuum regulated control exactly like the factory intended. It has done it all from tailgating to big cross country trips. After the last big trip it went under the knife for a lot of just in case maintenance that spiraled out. Now I have a kid and I sold my race cars so I need to thin out projects and pay bills so it's gotta go. I'm sure there is stuff I am forgetting but make an offer.
Few extra issues, A/C is always running when the blower is on (gmt400 problem), rear rv hatch mechanism stripped, small crack in upper right windshield.

1998 Chevy C3500 6.5t 2wd Ambulance Cab
This is a good truck, i've known keith for quite a few years now and the thing gets better every time I see it
That looks awesome, but I'm just here for the NACA duct!
Wish I was in the market, it looks like you've done it up right.

In reply to accordionfolder : The dirt lines show airflow, but really need to build a box around the filter and do some data logging to see. Based on my NACA understanding you really need more leading flat surface for them to be effective, but there was already a hole there so I made lemonade.

In reply to Patrick :
Thanks Pat, starting the timer till I scrap the cab to be more marketable.
I've been ignoring this for months since you originally said you were planning to sell it.
Then you posted it and it was just enough $$ to convince myself it wasn't worth bringing up to the wife due to "reasons" related to "you don't need more cars"
Then I get home tonight and see this pop to the top. Show it to swmbo and get the "you can't buy anything else... but we've been looking for something like that for a bigger RV"
We should talk. PM incoming.

Bump, ebay and facebook fees are getting ridiculous. 50 bucks for a 30 day ebay listing. Facebook wants 25 to "boost" listing for 3 days.

Have you tried post on the champcar and lemons facebook? I have seen a couple in those paddocks that were done very well. They are always cool to see.

I have it in a lot of the facebook equivalent groups but thanks for the suggestion, Ill get it out there.
I think I am about to start marketing it as a rolling shed for those projects you need to store for the winter.
I cross-posted this onto the GMT400 forum because that's where you really need to be advertising this. That said, even the GMT400 guys tend to hate on the 6.5 diesel.

Thanks. I need to move it. The last set of tires rotted out before I could get any miles on them. I am tempted to scrap the cab and stuff it in a garage at this point. I started too high in the price for the market, or I just suck at selling stuff theses days. I have posted it on the 6.5 group several times. Its the cab that scares a lot of normies away I think.

Came here to say this, I bet you could tow a miata or something with it and have the rear cab full of spares and tools.

Lots of possibilities for towing, I like the idea of it, but probably overkill for my karting operation.

Just put the karting operation in the back?

Yea, you can literally have a entire kart workshop that lives in your driveway then you just drive it to the track. Think off all the shed space you will be recovering.

What’s the current price? I kind of like the old 6.5 trucks.

5k no haggle GRM price. Between the tires, turbo, exhaust, Injectors, lines, fuel pump, harmonic balancer, fan pulley, and batteries we are pretty much there in value. The gutting of the cab wring to eliminate all the spurious parasitic drains is worth so much more but no one really cares. End of the day its an old truck that needs exercised.
