Listed my VW on Facebook this evening. Willing to make a deal with the GRM crowd.
It has the right seats and transmission (in my opinion)
Additional work / mods that seemed too detailed for facebook:
- New CV axles on both sides
- New front Moog wheel bearings on both sides
- New OEM PCV system & Hoses
- ECS tuning intake manifold internal butterfly valve repair bracket
- I have touch up for the car. It matches poorly and can be seen in the spots I did on the hood.
- PO put cold air intake on car. I have OEM intake
- Brakes, rotors, calipers, struts, springs, downpipe, sway bar end links are all new within the last 15k miles
I have put about 12k miles on it in 8 months and it burns about a quart of oil every 1500 miles which is “within spec” according to the owners manual but is quite annoying.

That looks pretty nice. I agree that the cloth seats are the way to go (as a Floridian who has been burned too many times on leather/leatherette in the summer). GLWS
Seats - yes
Transmission - no, in my opinion.

When my son was transferred to Atlanta, he arrived on Monday, got an apartment and a new GTi on Tuesday and started work on Wednesday.
Just a fun car right out of the box. Caiden, wish I could. I like the seats so much, I did the 914’s seats in blue GTi material. 😁
Not loading.
I don't need another GTI, but the cloth seats ARE very much the right seats.
I have been dropping it $100 a day and not a ton of interest.
It is down to $8600 now. Maybe too expensive still?

Considering I saw $6800 at first glance and thought that was maybe too much... IMO yes.
Also at 140k miles any mention of the timing chain? They have failed on the 2.0t before.

I would think that for the type of person looking for a lowered hot hatch a 4dr automatic would be the worst possible combination, but if you haven't had much action in a couple weeks that's a good indication that your price is too high.
