Birmingham Alabama at Barber motorsports park. Anyone else planning to attend?  Dates: Oct 3-5, 2025. Lots of cool older motorcycles and the world's largest motorcycle museum with well over 1000 bikes on display.  Road racing, motocross, and cross country racing. I have been attending for over 10 years. Always as enjoyable event.

I have not been to the vintage festival but we stopped by the museum after a Lemons race a few years ago and that alone is worth going to.

In reply to Chris Tropea :As I go this year I will try to provide a taste of what the Vintage event is like through mostly pictures and maybe a few descriptions.

If you want to see what is at shows like Barber and AMCA swap meets, check out my friend Dave's YouTube channel. He tours the events with his camera. https://www.youtube.com/@bullpencycles

Between the 3 of us we bought a Yamaha DS7 parts bike with a good compression motor, a Yamaha CT1 enduro motor for parts, a child's electric trails bike, a Honda XR80 with what appears to be a dirty carb and other miscellaneous parts.

I saw this at the JVMC bike show. This was an optional tank and side cover paint option on the 1973 Honda CL350 and CL450.

My son bought this Saturday afternoon and sold it Sunday morning, he really only wanted the spare motor that came with it.

In reply to madmrak351 :

I want to get there one of these years.  That custom paint on the Honda 350 I think was a Japan only option, it's cool to see one.

In reply to stuart in mn :  I hope you do get to make it to the event sometime. We have been regular attendees for 16 years other than Covid cancellation one year and a few times we missed due to hurricanes. I still need to make it to AMA vintage days at Mid-Ohio, so I understand. On the custom tank and covers the order form says American Honda, however the dates of availability on the Japanese form were November 15th 1972 through February 28th 1973. So the number of takers in the US was probably pretty small.

Mid-Ohio is 90% Japanese dual sport stuff when I was there a couple years ago. The incessant noisy traffic of everyone riding the same bikes everywhere was irritating. For a guy into European bikes it was a colossal time and money waste (it's like $50 to get in, and nowhere near as nice a place as Barber).

In reply to ddavidv : Having been to Mid-Ohio years ago for the SCCA runoffs as a crew member, I can see the superiority of Barber as a facility. And then there is the museum!
