Weird question.  They battery in my Triumph is good.  No problems and it's about a year and a half old.

On speedaddicts.com the exact yuasa battery my bike uses is on sale for about 65 dollars .  I have a 20 dollar credit on that site in addition from previous purchases .

If I was to buy the battery now and not fill it with acid, basically let it sit unused until I needed it say in a years, would it still be good? Or should I hold off on buying another one until I really need to replace it and probably recieve  newer one?

Buy it. If you have to add electrolites, then there's no reason it can wait till spring. It probably been sitting on the shelf for's 6 months already.

Buy it.

Where it says a years, which looks like it should be a years time is not. I meant to type 4 years.

Still the same answer ?

I would. They are dry at the moment. I've found that not keeping them charged up once they are juiced is what kills my motorcycle  batteries.

As long as it's dry it should be OK.  I had a motorcycle battery that I didn't use for about six years.  I poured in the electrolyte, charged it, and it worked fine.

Interesting that Triumph does not use AGM.

Well I hope I haven't bought the wrong one because it is supposed to be AGM.  Yuasa only lists the YTX9-BS as AGM

In reply to Slippery :

They're AGM, but still require to be acidized out of the box. After that, you seal them and that's it. The shelf life for a non acidized battery is years and years.
