SOLD SOLD SOLD!

One of the greatest-ever do-it-all bikes for sale. Gobbles up the miles, tackles the twisties, runs across town, can haul a passenger, can haul luggage, it even does ok on gravel for street bike 😳 and delivers an epic V-4 soundtrack while doing so. Fairly upright ergonomics, decent wind protection, minimal vibrations, and aftermarket seat and suspension plus a torquey and willing powerplant make it a comfortable ride as well.

I'd love to keep it, but I've currently got two cars, one truck, five motorcycles, and I just bought an Alfa Romeo that should arrive before too long, so I need to thin the herd. Lately my moto rides have gravitated towards the narrowest, twistiest back roads and gravel, so the VFR is on the chopping block.

Located in Portland, Oregon. Clean title, I'm the second owner. Asking $3250 OBO.

The good:

  • Runs and rides great
  • 85,500ish miles, so you know it hasn't been sitting for an extended period 😆
  • One-off custom Leo Vince titanium exhaust
  • Nearly-new Daugherty Motorsports custom fork springs/cartridges and new remote reservoir rear shock set up for street/sport touring 215-pound rider. $1400 invested with the foremost expert on VFR suspension. This fork/shock transformed the bike!
  • Sargent double saddle
  • Solo cowl cover, removable
  • Tinted windscreen
  • Bright PIAA headlight bulbs
  • Frame sliders
  • Lots of tread on the Michelin Pilot Road 2CT tires
  • Newish water pump
  • Cam tensioners and regulator/rectifier replaced under previous owner only a few thousand miles ago.
  • Comes with three oil filters and new EBC HH sintered brake pads.
  • I have a tank bag and expandable tail bag I'll throw in as well. You can pack a surprising amount between the two.

The opportunities:

  • Throttle/fueling can be slightly jerky when cold.
  • Tires are roughly ten year old date code
  • Small gouge on left side of fairing, with mediocre touch up paint
  • Paint scuffs here and there commensurate with age/miles
  • Brakes will need pads (included) and a flush in the near to mid future

I'm happy to provide more photos and details if needed. I'm happy to help with delivery within 150 miles. I'm happy to meet GRM Express or your shipper in the area. Test rides available with cash in hand.

Gee!! This is a lot of bike for the money! I wish I knew about this four weeks ago while in Portland, would've been cool to ride there for a cpl of weeks and then ship it back or sell.

GLWS Jesse!!

I can vouch for the Interceptor being a fantastic street sport bike.  GLWS!

Thanks everyone! Nice to know that others feel like it is a lot of bike for the money. I looked around and priced it at what I felt was a very reasonable price at the lower end of asking prices for comparable bikes.

I was a bit dismayed when the main interest I got early on was insane lowballs and stupid trade offers, despite specifying no trades because I am out of space and have too many vehicles. No, I can't do $1400 cash today. No, I don't want to trade for an '06 V-6 Mustang that "runs good but has lots of cosmetic issues."

Then I pulled it off Facebook Marketplace, and left it up on several different enthusiast forums. I've finally been getting some serious interest recently. smiley

Good to hear you're getting interest.  You've got some great mods, but the really high miles are tough...  lots of these bikes with 15-20k miles going for ~$4k.

I recently had two different VFR owners come by to buy other VFR parts I have for sale. They both had similar reactions: stared for a few seconds, leaned in closer to look at the details, and then said, "Wow; it's beautiful! I can't believe it has that many miles! It looks cleaner and better-maintained than mine with 30-some thousand miles!"

It's a Honda!  That many miles is nothing!

That's a LOT of bike for under $3k...  If you were closer, I'd be tempted, just to grab the seat and exhaust and resell the bike!  cheeky
