The other option is I can mod the car with my standard files that will give much more adjustment to the ABS and TC but we will have to all install a new car.   I don't mind this but I like the simplicity of just a couple clicks on the server side and no special car needed.

Any opinions???

Seems unnecessary to me, what makes the car difficult is the tires and their lack of feedback. It makes managing the weight transfer an exercise in precision and you have to recognize the beginnings of a slide visually before you feel it. The fastest way to drive it is to have the slowest inputs possible, and even with ABS on brake like it doesn't have it. More settings won't do anything besides add more tuning time.

Yeah I don't think the current ABS/TC options are bad or lacking.

I like the abs.  I am not using the TC.  Because of my setup the Moza with this car makes the brakes an on/off switch. There is virchally zero modulation available. I could probably change settings on the Moza and even so I think I would have to start messing with the curves of the graphs to try and widen the peddle travel.  The thing is it is only an issue with this car so if I wanted to race in another car I have to mess with the Moza settings. Where as this way I just run the abs and it is set up that way in my car setup /tune file that I load anyways.

I'm having a really difficult time with brake modulation on this car... haven't tried the ABS yet.  Maybe some of it is just Brands Hatch, but it's incredibly easy to have a minor misstep that either causes a spin, or a big increase in lap times.  The FF is way more challenging than I expected it to be after a couple of quick test laps.

Braking is quite difficult in this car, for me I'm not any faster with ABS but it makes it much easier to be consistent and greatly reduces risk.

This!!!!  It alows me to be much more consistant.  I think I am faster because I am crashing less not because the ABS helps with lap times.  LOL.

Bumping this up to the top for suggestions.  Trying to get out in front of the car selection or series of cars for next season.

I actually think we will be running a spec BMW series but want to keep the suggestions comming in.

If I have the time I should make a spreadsheet in the google drive with all the cars from this thread.

I could enjoy a spec BMW series. What about a different spec car each race or few races? Everyone runs, say, a clownshoe one week and then an E46 M3 the next and so on

I ran a few laps in each of the cars on the server today... started with the Benz, then 962, then 787.  Then I went back to the Benz for one lap.  TC/ABS on on all cars, and turbo at 100%.  I upped the rear wing a couple of clicks on all three.

The Benz is a beast!  Relatively easy to drive, and much higher straightaway speeds.  The TC and ABS both work really well.  The TC on the Porsche only seems effective in 1st gear.  It was very easy to spin the car on the power on corner exit.  Most difficult of the three to drive, but there's definitely potential.  The Mazda just feel slow, and doesn't really want to turn in for low speed corners.  Easier to drive than the Porsche.  The Porsche was about 2 seconds off the Benz for me, and the Mazda another 2 seconds back.  When I hopped back in the Benz for one lap I found another second (low 2:15).

Clearly from the times on the server, the Mazda is capable, I just haven't figured it out yet... was anyone fiddling with tuning, or were those times out of the box (2:16s)?

Those were out of the box times. The 787 sure does drag its ass in the low-speed turns, I should've tried my go-to solution of loosening up the diff starting with the decel and coast settings...

Those are really fun cars!!!   I like that they go so fast that they make the big tracks seem small.  They are definitely a possibility and I may add a couple more options if I can find similar cars from around the late 80's, early to mid 90's

We have been racing on the smaller tracks.  These would let us race some of the much bigger tracks without getting bored on the straights and or hitting aero top speed as we have in some cars.

Anyway, there will be more cars to test.  I think we will take Sauces BMW for a test session next week, along with maybe a little of what is on the server.

Don't forget, everyone, that we are looking for cars from you for the proposed car changing series.  Stock boring cars are welcome as well as mini vans, pickups, you name it, it is not off the table at the moment.

Looks like the Mazda was the only one in the standard Kunos release. What pack might have the others?

My offering for the "cars we own" series is the ACL GTR Capri RS3100... I don't have an RS3100, but I do have a Mk1 Capri:

I'd have to make a locked-down variant of my Toyobaru's digital twin, everything possible on the car is pit-adjustable, including all sorts of things that aren't adjustable on the real car, if we want to make tuning simple that would be a nightmare scenario...

I also have one of my AE92 that isn't as well-developed but it would be very much like the Corolla wagons we raced a few seasons ago.

I haven't owned a lot of great cars but the ones I have that I'd like to see on track are a 1988 MK2 VW GTI 16v, a 1988 BMW e28 M5 and an e90 3 series with a turbocharged 5.3 liter GM v8. Could probably sub in an e90 M3 if we can add a turbo. and as a wildcard my first car, a hand me down 1980 Chevy Malibu wagon. bonus points if its cimmaron red with wood grain panels.

There is a Spec BRZ mod that is very close to what I had.  Just need to toggle engine damage on and set to 1000%

So on the server I added another fast car.  The P4-5. I really like this car. This is a strong contender as a car for a series.

In reply to dean1484 :

The P4/5 reminds me a lot of the GT4 cars... great grip, but not quite enough power.  Not bad to drive, but not quite as much fun as the GTP cars.

The difference between the 787 and 962 in TC is really stark.  The Mazda just sputters, and Porsche will spin...  is there a way to add multi-step tunable TC like we had on the GT3 cars?  I think both cars would really benefit from some TC tuning.  The Merc is still faster than both, and easier to drive.

I still really like the idea of the "cars we own" series... maybe we can get some on the server for testing next week?

I can do that. Re the TC and ABS. I have the TC and ABS file from one of the McLarens that works very well.

There is a bunch of cars are on the server now and they can be down loaded from the Google drive.  At the moment we have more than we need. We will have to thin them out. It would also be fun to get more.
