Hi all!
I'd like to reach out to you as part of the sim racing community. Some of you may be interested in helping out a very talented mod creator.  A while back, he had been privately contracted to develop a version of Blackhawk Farms for Assetto Corsa.  After spending a considerable amount of time creating the most realistic version of Blackhawk Farms that can be found in any PC sim, the customer had backed out leaving this developer hung out to dry.  I'm taking it upon myself to try and collect pledged donations which would amount to the total of the hourly rate in which was spent in order to create the mod.  If the goal is reached, your donation will be accepted and sent to the developer as a "thank you" for all of the work he has done.  If the goal is not reached, your donation is not accepted and you're not out any money.  The goal isn't that much considering the amount of work he put into it and the timeframe for the campaign is currently active with only 2 days left so please don't wait. Any pledged donation is appreciated, but the more you can donate the greater the chance of reaching the goal.  I started out with a $100 donation of my own and will add if we get close to the goal.  We've been able get pledges amounting to half of the goal so far, but there is still a lot more to go!  Please help me reach the target so that we can all experience a sim track that holds a special place in the hearts of all who have club raced in the Midwest. I also want to mention that if anyone does donate, Indiegogo automatically adds a 40% "tip" when checking out that goes to them by default, but that can be changed to $0 in order to not add any additional cost. They will also take a percentage off the top in addition if the campaign succeeds. Please consider donating before you forget about it. I know this post sounds kind of "scammy", but if you're not experienced with Indiegogo, it's one of the more popular crowdfunding platforms on the web like "GoFundMe".  The campaign page has a video and images of the work he's done.  It's really well done!  Please reach out if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Keith

Broke AF right now but I chipped in a little. You should try to contact Blackhawk Farms management about this ASAP, tracks are generally happy for the free tourism promotion that having a good sim version of their circuit available brings, they might not blink at dropping a grand or two on this from their advertising budget...

I think someone did try reaching out to them and when they were finally tracked down they were not interested at all, unfortunately.

Looks like one generous individual dropped over a grand on it last night so it was funded in time smiley

The owner of General Kinematics in Crystal Lake, IL told me he owned that track (2015).  I was going to suggest you contact him or his family.

So why the time restriction?

You mean the 60 day length of the campaign?  That's how Indiegogo works.  60 days was the max duration.

It looks like we may make it.  I had gotten an email from Indiegogo support this morning that I violated their terms of service when I donated to my own campaign so I'm hoping it doesn't cause the campaign to fail.  If it does, everyone gets their money refunded.  I should hopefully have an answer in the next week or two once they settle the funds.

So what happened with this?  Did it go through?

Transactions should settle around the 10th~13th so there probably won't be news until then, unless Indiegogo decides to cancel it due to ToS violation.

Just saw news that the transactions have settled and the ToS violation was allowed to slide: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/donate-for-asseto-corsa-version-of-beloit-wi#/updates/3
