A very tricky track last night. I was running a very low down force setup my car that was very susceptible to any kind of bump from other cars. I probably should have run Rodans setup. All in all I was happy with my run. I spent quite a bit of time running alone but I did have a couple good runs with Mike and Gameboy I thought was going to get me but something happened and he fell back.

Fuji is a difficult track. There's a couple of corners that require big commitment for good lap times, but grip can be a little iffy in the slower corners. The volcano grass melts tires with even a low speed off/spin, and then it takes most of a lap to cool the tires.
Yeah, not easy to balance between the fast sweepers in the early part of the lap and the slow switchbacks at the end. Still, I had fun dueling with Gunner in the first race, and I had a pretty good run going in the second one until I decided to berkeley my own race by turning in early on Mike.
I may be on line tonight. I still can not find a setup I like for this track.

Left rear gets melty at Barcelona.... I like the track, but the Lambo doesn't seem quite as good here as it's been so far. Try putting some wing back in... seems to help.
Another couple hours of tuning and tweaking and I got this.

I ran the exact same time on hard tires and mediums down to the hundredths of a second. I think hard tires are the key as when the mediums get hot they take half a lap to cool down.
For those that are not practicing I would suggest using your Laguna Seca Setup and adjust the gears to 160-170 mph. This was a much better starting point than using my high speed setup from Daytona and Fugi. You will most likely want to tweak the gears some to get them to line up with specific corners or complexes.
Another thing to play with is your ABS and TC. TC being the big one as it will control the cars rotation under power coming out of corners and there are a lot of places on this track where that is important. If I have more time I will also look at the dif and see if making adjustments to the accel could help as well allowing a little bit less TC. ABS is helpful coming in to many corners as depending on its setting it will change the set the car takes on corner entry. This is another little thing that can make a difference.
Tires also seem to be an interesting thing. I can run either tire BUT the medium I have to be really careful not to slide the car at all. I feel like I am driving the car at 9/10. And then god forbid you do slide the car or have an off you need the better part of a lap to cool them down. The hard tires you can lean on them much more and they will be ok. I was able to get identical lap times from the hard and the medium. For safety and consistency I will most likely go with the Hard tires even though I am probably giving up a small amount of time over all as the risk of overheating the mediums will cost me 5 or more seconds a lap while I wait for them to cool down should I screw up.
Everyone ready for tonight??
Some good racing last night. May not have been my finest hour, but I put in a good show for most of the races. These cars can be tough to control, but worth it in the end.

Was planning to join, but somehow I managed to get heatstroke and was completely out of it
I posted up ion the Discord but I will also note it here. We baked down the HC multiplier to 1.25. This keeps the percentage difference between people but brings the HC down so the cars should be much more fun to drive.

So, same amount of bodies in the trunk, but they are just smaller bodies?
I forgot to post results:

I have to go dig up my in car of the pass I made on moto in the first race. One of those that required perfect timing and me to do the last complex of corners perfectly. A "Holly crap that actually worked" moment. I also need to ride in car in motos car to see what he saw. I did not warn him I was coming.
Generally, in auto racing, the organizers of such events, the ones that set the rules and such...
...tend to prefer...
...that you stay ON the track when you pass...

I hit my marks perfectly on the first two rights in one constant ark. I was like we are either going to make this work or I am going to be buying Moto a bottle of scotch as we could have just as as easily ended up in a smoking pile of pickles in the final corner. 😁

I was using the other track. 😎
That was actually my line through there. You get a much better line in to the last corner. You just have to be carful of the painted area not causing a problem.

Hay now. I was being a considerate driver and leaving lots of room. 🤣
