That's me finding the terrible bump near the inside of the 2nd-last turn around the 50sec mark...lucky I didn't lose any positions doing that.
We have a few collections of classic (as in 90's) Japanese street cars (maybe a Gran Tourismo tribute series?) we are looking at as well as a rather entertaining hot hatch (with a go fast button!) we are looking at. Dean wants to look at a TCR car (which is rather similar to that previous series).
For the first batch of street cars, there, to me at least, be at least a few non-runners. The S2000 drove fast, but was clearly slower than most. The Evo and WRX, seemed way slow to me. The NSX might be a ringer? That mod Skyline is clearly not in the same league (twice the HP). In general, I found them all (except the EVO and STI) interesting to drive.
Just tried the Nissan Silvia from JGTC mod. It was fast and the brakes didn't feel bad, being non ABS. So some JGTC ? Tried the Lotus Type 49 and the brakes took a lot to get used to. Currently wondering how a fast Honda Civic SiR-II [EG6] & Porsche Boxster 2003 would work.
I did a bunch of testing tonight. The cars and comparative results at WG short are posted on discord in the general chat.
I also got the new server up. It is on line now. You can find it by searching for GP Simsports. Or use the same ip as the old one except it is port 8083.
It loads much faster. I think it is because the LAN port is a modern 2.5gb. I think the old one that has a very old mother board may only have a 1gb port.
It only uses 35 watt. The old one I think was close to 150 watt. So a decent savings. The other benefit is it is the size of two paperback books. I can get the old one that is in a full size case off my desk.
I like the 190 EVO.... it would be a good car for a spec series. The Alfa is cool, but the pace is 'leisurely' and we just did vintage....
I think the 190 was the first car I used for an on line server test when Aircooled and I were first setting things up.
