When you want to tell the world that you have arrived, you'll want to arrive in an AMG Benz.
Those extra three letters got you more performance, more appointments, more exclusivity.
A personal lottery car for me? The famed Mercedes-AMG E63 S wagon. It was and still is the total package: fast, comfortable and practical, too. (See, I’ve already talked myself into one.)

The latest E-Class AMG works to fill those shoes but, sorry, no V8 for the AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ Sedan. As the name alludes, it features a hybrid drive hooked to a 3.0-liter turbo engine. Total output isn’t too meek, though: 577 horsepower along with 533 lb.-ft. An optional AMG Dynamic Plus Package can boost that figure to 604 horsepower. Plug-in range is 42 miles. You all can discuss that.

How’s it drive? Fast. Zippy. Quiet. Roomy. Supportive seats. Direct steering. Sizable trunk. Plenty of back seat room. All the comforts expected of a Benz, never mind one wearing AMG on the decklid, but tuned a little softer than a BMW M.
But, at least on our test car, the a/c seemed to have trouble keeping up with our Florida summer. With the blower motor set to anything but the top position, it just wasn’t as comfortable as a $115,000 car should be.
