A Porsche 914 with a flat-four engine, what’s so special about that? Well, the engine in this 914 comes from Subaru, not Porsche.

More specifically, the engine is a Japanese-market 2.5-liter unit, according to the seller, that's mated to a “heavy-duty” five-speed gearbox fitted with an upgraded clutch and pressure plate.

Other modifications, aside from the more obvious fender flares, include an aluminum radiator and additional frame reinforcements, as well as new tires, Fuchs wheels and braking system.

That engine looks really crusty compared to the rest of the car... makes me wonder why there are no undercarriage photos in the auction page.

Yeah, a little too much tuck.
I like the front end look and what I think is the radiator inlet below the bumper , I just wonder how it cools
Does it use a Subaru gearbox ?
I like it.
What's it take or cost to build a forged crank turbo 6 cylinder Subaru engine? ![]()
