Hopefully GWAR gets this gig next year. Actually, I once did see GWAR at PRI. They happened to be playing in Indy that week, so we went. Got White Castles on the way back to the hotel.

How to best mark the end of the weeklong SEMA show? With music, motorsports and a one-of-a-kind automotive cultural experience, of course.
Featuring performances by Queens of the Stone Age, The Black Crowes and Neon Trees, this year's SEMA Fest will also host drifting, high-speed precision driving, and high-horsepower exhibitions.

The festivities take place on November 7, following this year’s SEMA Show, which runs from November 4 to 7.
Tickets for SEMA Fest 2025 go on sale on July 18; however, an early bird presale starts July 16.

Has SEMA jumped the shark as far as new automotive trends , parts , tools etc ,
Coachella for Vegas ?
In reply to californiamilleghia :
Or they're trying to capitalize on the trend of festivals and incorporating that into their show. These days, folks want more than just new parts and tools, especially when many companies don't save those debuts for shows like they used to.

Dammit SEMA Fest may have gotten me with this one.

The core of it is still the industry show, there's just a bunch of extra noise intended for the general public. That's not new.

Plus, having parties after the show ends keeps some of the industry money in town for another day or two. People who flew in for the show might extend their stay to attend the concert, and if they're feeling good after a successful show, they're more likely to throw a little more money around to celebrate.
At least QOTSA is a pretty rocking good live show.
Never seen The Black Crowes live, but I imagine they are as well.
In reply to z31maniac :
I’ve never gotten into QOTSA, but a friend has recommended that I check them out. He also turned me onto Clutch, which was a huge win.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
Not everything is for everybody. I've been a big fan of them since Songs for the Deaf - The album Dave Grohl played drums on (and their style has definitely changed over the years). Then I found out they had two albums before that, and before that Josh Homme (main guy, singer, etc) was in the sludge/stoner band Kyuss, which I also dig.
Also saw something the other day, the original guitarist from Kyuss and Bill Keliher from Mastodon have created a band together. I expect to it be sludigier than the La Brea tar pits.
Here is a live clip with Dave Grohl playing a song off their first album. Picked up the tempo and rocked it way out.
