I remember that one: Pretty sure I red-flagged that car during the autocross when a fuel return line came loose.

Barn finds don’t all have to be million-dollar Cobras. Brothers Dave and Jim Woodson showed up at our $2004 Challenge with an ex-IMSA Firehawk Mitsubishi Eclipse, a veteran of the professional street stock circuit. After its retirement, the car spent about eight years hiding in plain sight: unceremoniously parked behind a repair shop near Dulles International Airport.

For $1000 the brothers picked up an old race car with legit professional heritage. Back in the day, the IMSA Firehawk endurance series featured the top drivers, the country’s best tracks, and some intense racing.
After Dave and Jim replaced the tires, battery and fluids, the car even ran and drove, too. The kicker, of course, might have been what was found inside the cabin: a complete set of brand-new stickers that exactly replicated the ones the car ran back in the day.

In reply to David S. Wallens :
In my opinion, one of the coolest cars we've had at the Challenge.
