Oh, so when Adrien Brody does it, it's a cool documentary, but when I do it, it's all "Who are you and how did you get in here?"
Porsche’s marketing department has a history of collaborating with handsome, brooding actors on projects over the last few years. You may remember following along with Michael Fassbender’s journey through the Porsche GT ranks, culminating in some WEC podiums and a couple of competitive Le Mans appearances.
Now, Porsche has teamed up with Oscar-winning Adrien Brody, who shows up in Stuttgart–on both sides of the camera–for a short internship at the Porsche factory.
Brody, the actor, plays both worker and host, gregariously mugging his way through several steps in the Porsche assembly process while looking only slightly too sexy and shredded. His fascination with the process comes across as genuine, but his interest in the other workers at the plant, many of whom are multigenerational Porsche employees, is where his interactions and direction truly shine.
Brody, the director, does an exceptional job at capturing the obsessive but sincere vibe of the people who build, design and augment these cars, and puts some nice perspective about how building an iconic machine that’s loved by so many people can make people feel more in touch with the rest of the world.
Yeah, it’s basically a half-hour Porsche commercial–I hope Brody was allowed to keep that 3.0 Targa as payment for his services, because Porsche got their money’s worth out of him–but it’s also a well-made look at an iconic brand and a deep dive into the fact that Porsche specialness starts with the people who create them, and that fact is not lost on the folks with the pens, wrenches and finishing cloths at Stuttgart.

maybe he's preparing for a role since he's a method actor.
I think it was around when he won his Oscar he placed an order for a C6 Z06 and was able to assemble his engine and sign the block.

Can you think of a better reason to win an Oscar?
I really did like the way he came off in the Porsche piece. Seems like a genuine enthusiast with enough knowledge to ask the right questions, and enough humility to listen to the answers.

I didn't even consider that, though it makes a lot of sense.
I certainly wouldn't say no to a biographical film about Ferdinand Porsche. ![]()
