As someone who owns a daily that turns into a greenhouse in the summer (and may or may not have an A/C leak), I'm also very excited for cooler weather.
(If anyone has any spare cool weather, feel free to ship it to the GRM office)

What does autumn mean to you? Chopping wood? Preparing for ski season? Cozying up with a cup of coffee while swaddled in your favorite hoodie?
If you own an early Miata and live here in Florida, fall means something a little different: Time to break out the Miata.
It’s no longer stick-to-your-seat weather. It’s not raining every day. You can, in short, drive your Miata without burning to a crisp.
So, what has our Garage Rescue Miata been up to lately? How about an autocross with our local Martin Sports Car Club–first out of two in class–plus just some driving time through the local area. It’s now, finally, time to enjoy the Miata.

Work required lately? Other than an oil change, nothing. It’s really a gas-and-go operation.

By the way, no idea who I was following in that other Miata.
I saw it change lanes a few cars ahead of me and, by the time we left Ormond, traffic had worked so we were nose to tail.
I was about to say that Florida is still weird, then realized that it's really nicer convertible season (for the next week or so) in the PNW than it was for most of the summer.
I was looking for a conventional MGB and wound up with the GT because I had so much trouble finding one. Mostly I think it's better for motorsporty things, but right now I wouldn't mind being able to drop the top.
Also, anyone else notice that the sunroof on something like a Mk1 Rabbit is fantastic, while on a relatively modern car with a more sloping windshield it's kinda behind you and really just changes the light in the car slightly and makes you wear a hat (if you've got hair or lack thereof like me) but doesn't actually give you a sense of outside?
In reply to Jesse Ransom :
So, related to that, I looooove convertibles.
All of our other cars have sunroofs. I hardly ever use them.
Yes! Tired of trying to pull under shade trees at traffic lights. The sunroof on my '86 CRX was my favorite design.
In reply to KimiR :
Totally normal to try to get some shade from 18-wheelers at stop lights, too, right?
In reply to David S. Wallens :
One time, I definitely matched the pace of a semi so that the sun wasn't in my napping daughter's face on a long-distance drive.
Helped keep the car a bearable temperature, too.
Hope to have the Miata out this Monday for Orlando Roadsters: 6 p.m. at 441 S. Orlando Avenue in Maitland.
