As enjoyable as it was to drive the Mustang on an autocross course, I can only imagine how much fun it was to drive on track. ![]()

GRM Tech Editor J.G. Pasterjak wheeled our BMW 435i project to a third-place finish in Tuner 2, just behind the two E46 M3s of Dennis Barrett (second place) and Matt Hugenschmidt (first place).
Our Club Spec Mustang project, piloted by GRM Publisher Tom Suddard, also nabbed a third-place finish, with Nate Kindlon securing second place and Michael Bard placing first.
While there were only three entries in the class, we certainly won’t say no to more hardware to add to the awards cabinet.

Tom was in my run group, so I wasn't able to grab a shot of the Mustang in action, but I did capture JG out there. Nicest people you'll ever meet, thanks for supporting this amazing event.

Nice pic! We wouldn't miss it.
(And I promise we're pretty nice all the time, not just at events.)
this is Chris, the guy sitting next to you in tech all weekend, thanks for hanging out and supporting / letting me jump into various conversations all weekend.
Man y'all need to use your forum names when you talk to us in real life so we know the score!
Yeah really stellar event all around. I really wanted a sub-2:00, but I was about a day behind the learning curve at a track I'd never been to for that to happen. By the time my track knowledge got to the point to do it, the track wasn't having it. It really degraded from day 1 of competition and made it really tough to go any faster. And if you got offline in most parts of the track you picked up a whole tire truck full of rubber and your session was basically over.
Still, what an incredible facility. Very fun and complex track that I'm really looking forward to going back to now that I have some knowledge.
That traxk is silly fun. I like all of the Alan Wilson tracks.
I have about 2000 laps on that track, but i could t make it to this event sadly.
Our fastest (that i could find easily) was a 2:05 in a 1989 rx7 with a 205 hp chevy v6 on hankook rs4.
Your tire testing editor also podiumed...2nd in Unlimited 1 and 6th overall...in the McLaren 720 Tom and I took on the One Lap of America a few years back.
