There is even wood grain on the dust deflector!

There are swagger wagons, and then there’s this Ford Pinto Squire.

Presented in largely original condition, this Pinto features rad-as-heck Vaquero cloth seats and the somehow-even-radder woodgrain vinyl on the sides and rear hatch.

Under the hood sits a 2.3-liter inline-four backed by a three-speed automatic.

I like Pintos and I really like Pinto wagons but "Jeezzz" what designer at Ford picked that color combo for the interior?
In reply to jimbbski5880 :
It was 1980, which means the interior color and design was done in the 1970s. Fashions were different then.

I'm always surprised when shown something like this survived. I'm not being snarky...just truly surprised to see one again and that someone back then thought "this car is important, at least to me, and it should be preserved."
It's kind of the automotive version of "the Dude abides." It's good knowing it's out there. Maybe the world is just a little bit better for it hanging around, taking it easy for all of us in all its faux wood grain and Vaquero cloth goodness.

I couldn't have summarized my feelings towards survivors like this Pinto better myself.
Virtually identical to the '76 Pinto Squire Wagon my Dad commuted with back in the day. Same color scheme, in and out. Pops had a manual 4-speed floor shift and the 2.3. I drove the car back when I had the RX-2, and all I can think when I see Pintos today is what a sad and incompetent response from the once-dominant US auto industry. A shining example of why the Japanese kicked our butts.
