Up for sale is my wife's transit connect. The mini van, a rare buffalo in these parts not wearing a large "H" logo on the grill. This was the first new car purchase I was a part of where we were actually able to spec out the build just like we wanted. I was excited because for the first time ford was to bring a new efficient diesel to the states with crazy advertised mpg. I remember calling the dealership several times seeing if they could select the diesel as an option on the build sheet but alas, we got tired of looking at other cars and decided to just order the van with the gas gdi engine. The states never got the engine, but I hear its wonderful *sigh*.  Knowing we had dogs and potential kiddos in mind for the future we spec'd out accordingly. Before we get into the nitty gritty know that ford opted out of a lot of the modern motorized accoutrement that plagues cars these days while not really adding anything to the vehicle other than weight and something expensive to break later. Plus why have automatic doors on a minivan if you don't allow them to be opened at speed from the driver seat. On the body the rear two doors are sliding with no assist ( and admittedly they could use a damper of some sort as they can get moving pretty fast on the slope of a parking garage.) The rear doors we opted for the barn doors, which makes for easy rear door opening in said parking garages and also makes it easi(er) to haul 10 ft pieces of material. Fun story is wife is a pole vault coach and this little van has trucked poles inside and on top all over Ohio.

Inside is a neat list of little van features. We opted for the bench seat instead of the captain chairs and for many years the farthest rear seat were removed (as seen in the photos) making this a sliding door station wagon. The rear mat is the rubber out of the cargo vans and is easy to keep clean. There is no sunroof but because of that we were able to spec neat overhead cabin storage in the rear. Over the driver area is a neat shelf to place small items that can stay wedged up there. Leather and heated seats round out the XLTish package.

Ford suffered some quality issues on this build that I will be passing on.  The first in the form of a sensor issues fault for the blind spot monitoring. I did no trouble shooting other than a plug and un plug of the sensor on the rear bumper. The warning will need acknowledged each and every time you drive.  The center muffler wasn't even welded and promptly fell apart right out of warranty, I clamped in a piece of stainless straight pipe and it sounds fine. The largest issue was the trans was replaced at 60k under warranty for 3rd gear flaring issues. The new trans shifts fine and I did a drain and fill of the special ULV fluid last oil change. Also not a ford issues but the window has a good crack on the passenger side. It seems to have run its course, but online quotes are around 500 for replacement.

We bought a bus and are hitting the road so we need to let the little van go. It comes with a set of winters on focus st rims, the rack is inclued but the canoe holders are not.

I am interested but am going to do research on the cost to replace the bench with captains. What is the realistic MPG? If it's not to much trouble what is the measurement front seats to the end of the trunk? just curious if I can fit a kart inside.

26 mpg average. in the wintertime less.  Width is slightly less than 4ft, as a sheet of plywood does not fit inside.
