Today, some of the fastest cars in the country take the tarmac of Pennsylvania’s Pitt Race to answer one question: Who has the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car.

Simply put, the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge is our annual search for the fastest track machine on four wheels.

Whether its factory-bought or home-built, new or old, as long as both car and driver can pass a safety inspection, it’s eligible to compete.

Prizes? Oh yeah, we have several up for grabs that go deep into the field, and entrants will be featured in an upcoming issue of Grassroots Motorsports.

Check out this year’s schedule of events, and take a look at who’s competing this year.

The Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge will be held alongside SCCA Time Trials Nationals. New for 2025, the weekend will also be joined by Superfly, a celebration of ’90s and 2000s car culture.

The Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge is presented by Grassroots Motorsports and fueled by Sunoco, in association with WilwoodVitour TireCRC IndustriesVbox Motorsport and Red Line Oil, with trophies from BimmerWorldNine Lives Racing, and Falken Tire.

Looks like a great day to go racing!

(And bring some of that cooler weather when you come back to Florida, please and thank you.)

Unofficially, it looks like Brian Faessler in his 2017 Ford Mustang is the fastest so far, with a 1:42.443 lap. Second fastest is Andrew DeKoning in his Tesla Model S, with a 1:47.204 lap.

In reply to J.A. Ackley :

I can't say I'm totally surprised, that Mustang is fast.

Be creative, live a fun life and don't be a shiny happy person.

Great mix!
