Not a limited-edition model, but the pace car used during the 1997 Brickyard 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

While the Monte Carlo was reportedly modified to be used as a pace car, the Chevy has seen been fitted with upgrades such as an ECU tune and aftermarket camshaft.

Also included in the sale are several pieces of memorabilia, including toys, posters and tickets.

The catch? The car cannot currently be driven on public roads, per the seller:

This Monte Carlo does not have a title, cannot be registered, and cannot be legally driven on a public road. It will be sold with a General Motors-issued certificate of destruction and a bill of sale only.

Looks familiar - this model is AKA a 2-door Chevrolet Lumina.

Bummer that it's not street legal.

I mean, I totally understand why, but it's still a bummer.
