Race car suspension, race car brakes, race car exhaust. Honda Racing Corporation has virtually everything a high-performance Honda or Acura would ever need, except for engine oil–until now, that is.
Developed in partnership with Phillips 66, a longtime partner and sponsor of both Honda and Acura race cars, “Formula R” is HRC’s all-new lineup of fully synthetic engine oil designed for both track and street use.

“Having relied on Phillips 66 in our ARX-06 GTP IMSA race car, we’ve seen firsthand their commitment to excellence,” said Jon Ikeda, senior vice president of HRC US. “That trust made them the ideal partner to help bring championship-grade performance to our customers.”
Formula R is expected to be distributed through Honda and Acura dealerships starting in spring 2026 and will be offered in six viscosities: 0W-16, 0W-20, 0W-40, 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30.

In reply to Colin Wood :
I’m not one of those people who can quote Seinfeld episodes, but one thing that stuck in my head seems more and more applicable in today’s world and may apply to using this oil in your Fit: George Costanza said something like “Jerry, just remember. It’s not a lie if you believe it.”
So use the R oil and add 10 whp to the butt dyno. It’s okay. ![]()

Heck yeah. I'm totally going to do that now.
I'm going to use it and tell Honda they have to warranty the engine on my 99 Prelude when I blow it on the track.
