Ormond Beach isn’t too far from here....

Tech companies are forever inventing stuff that already exists. Whether it’s the overpriced Juicero, the baffling Hyperloop, or simply figuring out a way to charge for enjoying a public park, tech bros (or a CBC reporter in the case of the park) are constantly crowing about how their latest “idea” will revolutionize the world, even though it totally existed in likely a better form already.
At least Hyundai has thrown a fun spin on a time-honored tradition.
That’s right, Hyundai has revolutionized, or at least seriously upgraded, a favorite American pastime: eating alone in your car.

With a nod to the Korean cultural phenomenon of honbap–dining alone–Hyundai will set up a one-night experience where diners in London can eat a succulent Korean meal in the back seat of a Hyundai Inster city car that’s been specially outfitted with a proper table for the experience. Solo diners may also bring someone along so the two of them can be alone together.

The cynical among us might say, “Wait a minute, this is nothing but a Hyundai marketing ploy.” And in this case, the cynical might not be so far off base, but we haven’t gotten to the best part yet: It’s free. It’s hard to be too cynical when you’re chowing down on kimchi, gochujeon, marinated short ribs and chapaguri.
If you can’t get tickets for this October 22 event, I’ll be driving my own Ioniq 5 to Taco Bell in Ormond Beach, Florida, this afternoon. It’ll be a pretty similar experience. You’re welcome to join me.

The Chili Cheese burrito is back for a limited time...
Good. I'm glad that's out of the way. I wont have to worry about the stupidest thing on the internet any more today. Going outside to play.
I usually look to German for a specific word for some random thing, but now I know I'm a Honbap enthusiast, at least sometimes.
Maybe I'll take a jar of kimchi out to the Mini this afternoon. My wife would prefer I didn't open it in the house anyway.
