Marco Andretti retires

I read that Marco Andretti announced his retirement from racing.  No more chance for breaking the Andretti Curse at Indy, I guess.

No, his daughter is already signed up for 2044.  
 

His was a career of what might have been. I do think he had talent. The in-car of him at Belle Isle in the rain on slick tires is a clinic in car control. What I'm not sure he had was the overwhelming need to win that separates the good from the great. And he had the misfortune of having to compete with all-time greats like Franchitti, Dixon, and Power during his career. And let's not forget the inconsistency of his team the whole time, either.

Agreed.  He showed talent but it seemed other factors often got in the way.  I always wondered how much pressure there was to live up to the family name, having one of the greatest drivers of all time as a grandfather.
