Among the concepts Toyota is bringing to SEMA is this bZ Time Attack Concept. It’s built for both time attack and hillclimb competition.

The build started with a stock 2026 AWD bZ, which out of the box is rated for 338 horsepower and delivers a zero-to-60 time of 4.9 seconds. This Concept, with an ECU recalibration, now offers 400+ horsepower.

Toyota engineers lowered the car six inches from stock ride height, increased track by six inches and integrated aero, such as a rear wing, side skirts, front splitter and rear diffuser.

Other upgrades include 19x11-inch BBS Unlimited wheels, 305/30ZR19 XL Contintential Extreme Contact Sport 02 tires, Tein coil-overs and springs, an improved Alcon braking system with Hawk pads adapted from the 86 Cup and Corolla TC programs and an FIA-spec chromoly cage.

The goal wasn’t to simply create a showpiece–it was to see how far the new bZ platform could be pushed in a motorsport setting,” lead builder and Toyota Motorsports Technical Center director of operations Marty Schwerter said.

Ok,so show us.

Go lobby the Optima guys for a Golden Ticket to their Ultimate Street Car event that follows SEMA.  Prove that it runs, and runs well.  Plenty of reference points at that event.

I agree. I hope Toyota brings it out to the track. It'd be nice to see.

Marty and those guys built all the Toyota Pro Celebrity cars, the Celicas, the Scions.  They know how to put cars together.  The issue with most of this "show" stuff is that it has a schedule.  There are times they let us come out and play, like the Sienna vans in 2016.

Get rid of the race wing and I would drive that to work.

Would you keep the front splitter, though. wink

I hear you, but I think I'd definitely something a little wacky–like the wing Hyundai puts on the Kona N Line. It's silly, but I love it.
